This isn’t just the best selling Fisher Price swing, it’s the best selling baby swing of all time. It’s reasonably priced and has all the needed modes and functions, not over done.

The swing can take a baby weighing up to 25 pounds, maybe a bit over. It can hold a newborn as it has good head support.

First of all lets run through what is on offer. The swing can be used in 2 different motions, has 2 recline positions, 6 swing speeds and can play 16 sounds and music. The seat is soft and the material can be removed and washed in the machine.

What makes this Fisher Price swing so popular? Well most baby swings just swing in one direction only. This swing goes in two directions. The swing can go side to side or back and forth.

Our test baby absolutely loved this swing, she fell asleep in it after just ten minutes. What makes it the best is it’s absolute simplicity to use.

The control panel is located at the top so no bending over required to get it started. The in built songs are okay, baby loved them but we found them very repetitive. Not a big problem really.

Another big buying point is its storability, the legs simply pull off with ease so it can be put out of the way with ease when not in use.

Quite simply it’s the best and probably will be for a very long time to come. It has everything you need and more and the babies love it.

#2 Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing – Starlight

The Fisher Price Starlight has a lovely little twist to the Snugapuppy Dreams model mentioned above. It has an over head star light show, it actually kept our test baby mesmerised for around an hour before she fell asleep.

The weight limit is 25 pounds, the minimum weight is 5.5 pounds so is good for most newborn babies to use, it has good head support too.

The chair is also surrounded by a canopy, it’s there to keep babies attention on the light show and this really does work well.

The swing can be set to operate at one of 6 different speeds and has 16 sounds and music built into it.

The swing has 2 vibration modes and even has a tray on the front to place babies favourite toys on. Many swings do not have a tray, this may appeal to some parents.

The swing can also operate back and forth or side to side. The swing can be powered by batteries or plug in.

The one big disadvantage is the fact that it takes up a lot of space, the holding legs flare out widely at the bottom. If you are short on space then this is not the swing for you.

The tray can be removed for cleaning as can all the material. It has a 5 point harness so you can be 100% certain your baby will not fall out at any time.

Do we recommend this swing? The light show one is the best for baby girls by a long way. If you want to keep it simple we prefer the Snugapuppy Dreams.

Tip: always keep an eye on your baby in the swing using a long range baby monitor with cameras.
