#1 Fisher-Price Sweet Snugapuppy Dreams Cradle ‘n Swing
This is one of the most popular baby swings ever made, the price is reasonable, the reviews are good and it functions really well.
Not many swings operate in two swing directions, this one does and it’s incredibly important. The swing goes side to side or back and forth, and many babies like one or the other motions.
Another super important feature is having a reclining seat, this helps a lot when you have a baby that suffers from colic.
The swing has 6 different speeds and has 16 sounds built into it. The seating positions can be switched quickly with the pop of a button.
The seat coverings can be removed and are machine washable, everything is easy to set up and operate after all new parents do not need anything that’s going to take up a lot of time setting up.
The deep seat hugs your baby almost like being in the parent’s arms when the swing started our test baby started to smile and then after 20 minutes fell asleep.
The only drawback is the fact that it does not fold up, so you must have space to leave it up all the time.
It is powered by the mains and is a plugin so not powered by batteries so is not expensive to run. The operating sound is not too loud, our baby fell asleep so that says everything.

#2 Graco Simple Sway Baby Swing
This baby swing has all the modes and functions of the expensive models yet is priced well under $100, at the time of writing it is just over $50.
This swing is very affordable, that’s why it is so popular, but is it worth buying? Very much so, however, it lacks in a few departments.
It vibrates and plugs in for power, the problem is that only sways in one direction and doesn’t have a reclining seat.
These two things can be detrimental to your baby liking the swing, some babies don’t like swinging side to side.
On the plus side it takes up very little space so is good for a small home.
The seat is very deep and our test baby loved it, the toys overhead kept her amused for a while and helped her drift off to sleep in just over 30 minutes.
Some swings shut off when the timer finishes, this one does not have this feature, you will have to turn off manually.
On the lowest settings it is okay for a general size newborn baby to use. No need to worry about the low price, the quality of the materials is as good as the more expensive options.
Some reviews state the swing is quite slow, we did not find this even when our heavy test baby gave it a shot.
